Purpose

This Privacy Policy discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices regarding the Site. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. Information from Children. the Company does not collect or maintain information from users known to be under the age of 13, and no part of the Site is structured to attract anyone under the age of 13. IF YOU ARE 13 YEARS OR YOUNGER, DO NOT USE THIS SITE FOR ANY PURPOSE. Online Advertising. Some companies that help Mommy Index deliver interactive online advertising, such as banner ads, may collect and use information about you to help Mommy Index better understand the advertising or promotions most appealing to you. After it is collected the information is aggregated so it is not identifiable to a specific individuals.

12. Marketing Analysis by Third Parties. Mommy Index may disclose to third parties personal information about you for marketing analysis; however, any information disclosed will be in aggregate data that does not describe or identify you.

Disclosure to Governmental Authorities. Mommy Index may release personal information to appropriate governmental authorities where release is required by law (for example, a subpoena) or by a regulation, or is requested by a government agency investigating or proceedings.

Use of Computer Tracking Technologies

14. No Tracking of Personal Information. The Site is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not entered by visitors. Our Site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying Site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our Site. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide better services to the public and may also be provided to others, but, again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.

15. Use of Cookies. Mommy Index, or its third party vendors, collects non-identifiable and personal information by using various technologies, including “cookies”. A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier that a website can transfer to your hard drive through your browser. The cookie is then stored on your computer as an anonymous tag that identifies your computer, but not you. Cookies may be sent by Mommy Index or its third party vendors. 16. Use of Web Beacon Technologies. Mommy Index may also use Web beacon or other technologies to better tailor its Site to provide better customer service. If these technologies are in use, when a visitor accesses these pages of the Site, a non-identifiable notice of that visit is generated which may be processed by Mommy Index or by its suppliers. Web beacons usually work with cookies. If you do not want cookie information to be associated with your visits to these pages, you can set your browser to turn off cookies; however, Web beacon and other technologies will still detect visits to these pages, but the notices they generate cannot be associated with other non-identifiable cookie information and are disregarded.

17. Collection of Non-Identifiable Information. Mommy Index may collect non-identifiable information from user visits to the Site to provide better customer service. Examples of such collecting include traffic analysis, such as tracking of the domains from which users visit or tracking numbers of visitors; measuring visitor activity on the Site; Site and system administration; user analysis; and business decision making. Such information is sometimes known as “clickstream data.” Mommy Index or its contractors may use this data to analyze trends and statistics.

Collection of Personal Information. Mommy Index may extract some personally identifying information about that transaction in a non-identifiable format and combine it with other non-identifiable information, such as clickstream data. This information is used and analyzed only at an aggregate level (not at an individual level) to help Mommy Index understand trends and patterns. This information is not reviewed at an individual level.

Information Security

19. No Liability for Acts of Third Parties. Mommy Index will exercise all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information. However, transmissions protected by industry standard security technology and implemented by humans cannot be made absolutely secure. Mommy Index shall not be liable for unauthorized disclosure of personal information due to no fault of Mommy index including errors in transmission and unauthorized acts of Mommy Index and/or third parties.

Privacy Policy Changes and Opt-Out Rights

20. Changes to Privacy Policy. Mommy Index may change its Privacy Policy statement. A notice of any material change will be prominently posted on the Site for thirty (30) days before implementing such change.

21. Opt-Out Right. You have the right to cease permitting personal information to be collected, used, or disclosed by Mommy Index and/or by any third parties with whom Mommy index shares or transfers such personal information. Right of cancellation may be exercised by contacting Mommy Index via email. After processing the cancellation, Mommy Index will delete your personal information from its data base.

Access Rights to Data.

22. Information Maintained by the Company. Upon your request, Mommy Index will reasonably describe your personally identifiable information that the Company maintains in its data bank. Mommy Index can be contacted by email.

23. Corrections and Changes to Personal Information. Help Mommy Index to keep your personal information accurate. If your personal information changes, or if you note an error after review of your information that Mommy Index has on file, please promptly contact Mommy Index and provide the new or correct information.

24. Your California Privacy Rights. Beginning on January 1, 2005, California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits customers of the Company who are California residents to request certain information regarding the Company’s disclosure of personal information for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please write to the Company. Within 30 days of receiving such a request, the Company will provide a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for third party direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, along with the names and addresses of these third parties. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year. the Company reserves its right not to respond to requests submitted other than to the mailing address specified in this Privacy Policy.

California’s privacy laws require the Company to provide notice to California users of their rights to receive information on to which entities their information was shared for marketing.

Additional Information

27. Survival. The policies stated in this Privacy Policy will remain effective, even if your access to the Site is terminated, to the extent we retain information about you.

Does Mommy Index accept any form of payments, sponsorships or endorsements from businesses?

Yes, Mommy Index accepts payments from businesses who are listed under “Recommended Businesses & Reviews” in the form of annual or monthly subscriptions.

However, Mommy Index only allows certain businesses we have personally experienced and have had a very positive experience with on The List (hence, a curated list).

Mommy Index does not accept payments from non-profits or free, community resources.
